Closed Captions is usually a transcript of the dialogue available in the same language. For example, a feature film will be captioned so that the hard of hearing can read the dialogue between characters. It doesn’t equal to subtitles. So, even if you’re not planning to delivery your movie to overseas, you’ll need Closed Captions.
Combined Continuity and Spotting List (CCSL) is a combination of the written visual description of a video called Action Continuity, and the audible part that contains the dialogues, sound effects, music and elements such as text on screen and graphics, with time code. CCSL’s can take 2-3 weeks to complete or even more if there are requirements such as SCENE DESCRIPTION, MUSIC CUES, CAMERA MOVEMENT captured such as “tilt’“ or “pan”.
A Dialogue List captures the audible part of the movie with in-time codes, out-time codes and duration of the dialogue. It’s often used for preparing language translations during the dubbing or subtitling process.
